How do I use AI in my business, honestly?
AI is everywhere right now. You can’t scroll far without seeing it mentioned, debated, or integrated into a tool you’re already using. Businesses across every sector are adopting it in some form, from streamlining admin to generating marketing content and whether you’re a pro, a bit cautious, or a bit of both, it is here to stay.
So let’s talk about it honestly — especially how I, at Brilliantly Organised, use AI in my business.
What AI Looks Like in Business Today
AI is being used by businesses for lots of purposes:
- Automating repetitive tasks like data entry, and transcription.
- Helping with research and content generation, from blog posts to social captions.
- Analysing trends and data
- Creating designs and images in seconds with generative AI tools.
- Supporting customer service via chatbots or AI-powered emails.
Some of this is brilliant. Some of it, in my opinion, needs a cautious and considered approach.
My Honest Use of AI
I’m not anti-AI. In fact, I use it — and you’re reading the result right now. But;
I won’t use AI to create images in my business, that’s a personal choice. In my opinion AI images lack SO many critical things! Nuance, consent, and the originality that I personally value — especially when I want to support creative, passionate business owners. I may use AI to lightly edit a photo or design, and I’m still not sure if this is something I will continue with – maybe that’s for another post.
Where I do use AI is as a thought partner. I use it to bounce ideas off, gather initial drafts which I do re-write or heavily edit, or to speed up processes. It helps me organise thoughts or brainstorm directions quickly, so I can spend more time doing what I love: supporting brilliant businesses and connecting with people.
AI Won’t Replace Us — If We Use It Right
I don’t believe AI is going to take all our jobs. Used well, it can enhance them. It removes friction from our workflows, creates headspace for bigger thinking, and frees us to focus on the high-value parts of our work that really need a human brain — and heart. However, it takes time and knowledge to use AI well and this is why I do believe it still needs an expert on the other end to get the most effective results.
We need boundaries. And we need to be aware of the impact it can have if misused — especially when it comes to creativity, bias, misinformation, and environmental load.
Balancing Progress with Responsibility
AI is a tool, not a solution in itself. And like any tool, how we use it matters.
AI could play a powerful role in fighting climate change. It’s already helping researchers and improving supply chains to reduce waste.
On the other hand, training and running large AI systems uses huge amounts of energy and resources. If we don’t check ourselves, we’ll risk creating as many problems as we solve.
I don’t think the question is should we use AI — it’s how do we use it responsibly, mindfully, and in a way that aligns with our values?
We Are Meant to Evolve
As humans, we are wired to grow, adapt, and evolve. Technology is part of that — but so is reflection. Just because we can do something with AI doesn’t mean we should. The balance lies in choosing what supports our personal vision, deepens our impact, and lets us show up with clarity and purpose.
And to me, that’s a pretty exciting kind of progress.
Who I Work With
I work with small business owners — especially creatives and purpose-led entrepreneurs — who want to bring more structure, strategy, and calm into their day-to-day. If you’re growing and need someone to get your operations, finances, and systems flowing brilliantly, we might be a great fit – let’s talk.
Final Thoughts
AI isn’t the enemy, and it’s not the answer to everything either. It’s simply a tool. Used well, it can create space for more human connection, better choices, and more meaningful work. That’s what I’m here for — and that’s how I’ll keep using it.
